Avoid these grocery store mistakes while on diet

Buying in bulk

It can be a big temptation to choose a supersize bag of something at the supermarket just because it is “on special” or to “save money” or to keep it for “guests” or “special occasions”, right?
It is almost impossible to resist the temptation to take a handful here and there. Stick to buying when, what and in the quantities you need, when you are on a weight loss diet.

Shopping on an empty stomach

Finding time to do grocery shopping can be challenging and tempting –but do yourself a favour and have a piece of fruit as part of you snack and daily allowance before you enter the shop.  Alternatively do shopping after an actual meal or ask someone else to do the shopping. If you shop on an empty stomach, blood glucose is likely to be low and it will be more difficult to stay focused.
No shopping list
You are more likely to purchase things you do not need if you do not have a shopping list.  The noise, colours, samples and smells all take your attention away from the task at hand. Using a list means your fridge is stocked and ready to go.
